Play Area Safety Inspections

Inspections can be provided for local authority playgrounds, communities, private operators and for crèches, playschools and after-school clubs. Skate parks, multi-use games areas (MUGAs) and indoor softplay sites are also covered.

Independent safety inspections help operators to fulfill their duty of care and assist with maintenance and budgeting schedules.

Post-installation Inspections & Risk Assessments

For new playgrounds, skate parks and Multi-Use Games Areas to ISEN 1176, ISEN 14974 and EN 15312 respectively.

These inspections are carried out before a site is handed over to the operator for management and insurance.

Annual Inspections

For playgrounds, skate parks and MUGAs to the relevant standard and for general safety, for insurance requirements. Risk/benefit assessments are updated every 3-4 years. Independent annual inspections are recommended under ISEN 1176.

These enable you to fulfil your insurance requirements, assists with budgeting and management priorities and backs up your own weekly inspections through a duty of care.

If you are an existing customer you will receive an annual inspection reminder one month before inspections are due.

Routine maintenance can also be carried out together with the annual inspection for an additional fee.

Spreadsheet Reports

These are based on Excel SaferPlay format are available for clients with a large number of playgrounds. This enables better co-ordination of maintenance and easier access to information for divisional managers.

Clients to date include Dublin City Council Housing Dept. and Fingal County Council.

Monthly or Quarterly Inspections

These can be carried out for particular sites that receive a lot of attention.

Whole Park and Sports Field

Full safety inspections and risk assessments. The owners/operators of parks and playing fields have a duty of care to the users. These may be members of organized sports clubs or casual users, including children.

A risk assessment will be based on a comprehensive visual inspection of all outdoor facilities and will include: pedestrian and vehicular access, site boundaries, hedges, fences and walls, sports facilities and surfaces, natural grass and synthetic, grounds keeping, maintenance and security of equipment, water features, trim trails, paths, seating and litter. Hazard tree assessments can also be carried out if required.

Richard is a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association, the professional body for tree care in Ireland. A detailed report will be provided with recommendations for any action which may be required.

Indoor Soft Play Inspections

These can be either post-installation or annual inspections which can be provided under the revised Part 10 of ISEN 1176:2008.

An inspection certificate as well as a report, can be provided.
