Funding for Rural Playgrounds
Funding is available under the Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013, “Improving the Quality of Life in Rural Areas”.
There are several tranches of funds that could be available for rural play areas, including the provision of infrastructural needs for tourism, amenity and leisure activities, village renewal and development, and specialised training courses.
Communities must raise 25% of funding, some of which may be in the form of ‘sweat equity’.
Funds are available through local partnership companies from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
